Testimonial from a Past Participants

"I met Denise two years ago as a member of the Leading-Edge program at my organisation. I was a Leading-Edge sceptic. During fifteen years of supervisory roles, I’ve been exposed to a variety of leadership training programs. Although I was nominated for the first Leading Edge intake, I declined and offered the opportunity to others. I watched many of the trainees going through the next three intakes and saw major changes in them. So did my boss, who again nominated me with an offer I couldn’t refuse. Denise helped me discover that I’d been hiding in my comfort zone, and then showed me how to apply what we were learning to my work life. As I started growing professionally and personally, Denise faced the challenge of containing and channelling my enthusiasm. Even before completing Leading Edge, I felt like my horizons had expanded. Yes, I can be a quality supervisor, but I am capable of even more. That desire to be stretched has now led me into new and even more challenging roles. Denise changed how I see myself and my future. I’m now a Project Manager and have completed both a Diploma in Project Management and a Diploma in Management. I attribute this newfound need for education and challenges to the Leading Edge program and to the way Denise Archie said in essence, ‘Take a look at yourself, and then dream of what you might become.’ I looked. I like what I see today. I’m appreciative that Denise and the Leading-Edge program opened my eyes."

  • - Lee, Now Senior Manager

I chose ACWE for one simple reason Denise Archie and her open approach to life and people.
After attending a session on leadership and the approach I enrolled in her executive coaching program for 4 weeks.
The impact the Team had on me and my teams and broadening my horizons, ways of thinking has opened many doors.  The team are very supportive and also have endless knowledge and can assist with any queries. The sessions were personal which is very rare in this day and age. I was a Maintenance leader and promoted to Maintenance manager looking after 72 direct team members and eventually 256 people under my mining ticket. I enjoyed friendly nature and it did not seem like work at any time.
It felt more like a family experience than coaching. It’s helped me immensely to talk in public and understand the personal side of people and how to work with them. It also made me understand and relate to my personality working style.  I continue to promote Coaching College and the team everywhere I work. Skills acquired had stood me in good stead from more confidence, smiling more sharing experiences and continually learning and understanding its all about PEOPLE

Ex-manager Arrium Mining
Now: BHP Mining – Principal Asset Manager

I have grown more confident in my abilities as a leader.

I have found patience in having to deal with multiple stakeholders.

I have realised that stakeholders appreciate system and processes.

I have realised that being a leader is a responsibility that can enrich my team and that they welcome the structure.

I have enjoyed getting to know my team through this learning, even though I didn’t think I would.

I have also realised how precious time is and to use it wisely, both business and personal.

  • - Manya, Office Manager

During 2007 we engaged the services of Denise Archie and her associates at Coaching College to train newly appointed leaders in Steel Products, Onesteel, Whyalla in leadership and management skills. The system of working while learning worked very well. 24 people finished the 12-month intervention with amazing results.

The key to the success was the work done prior to the start of the training, getting all the supervisors, managers and team leaders aligned with the goals and ensuring their projects were all contributing to the ultimate goals and vision. Denise and her team worked with our people developing skills and growing the confidence of the leadership team.

It is always difficult to calculate ROI on training investments, but in this case, the savings from projects executed as part of the training already paid for the cost of training a few times over.
